About The Car

This is a 1992 Toyota MR2, The only line of mid engined sports cars Toyota ever made. The MR2 came with a 2.0 L 4-cylinder paired with a 5 speed manual transmission, weighing at about 2700 pounds the Mr2’s turbo 4-cylinder could rip. Making between 150-200 horses the little lotus lookalike could go toe to toe with some of the times quickest competitor’s. Many felt Toyota made the Mr2 with much inspiration from Ferrari; mid engined, leading lines and popup headlights. So many people saw the similarities the MR2 SW20 was deemed “the poor mans Ferrari”.

Drippy’s MR2 Isn’t Like Everyone Else’s

Drippy has swapped his 92′ MR2 with a 1mzfe. Mr2 engine swaps are very common yet a 1mzfe isn’t what everyone else typically goes for K-swaps and 2-GR’S are very common in the community. Drippy has done a plethora of others mods to the MR2 from a new Berks exhaust, Hux racing suspension, and some Bob 808 coil-overs. Furthermore on the exterior of the car Drippy has some 17′ Blitz 03’s wheels, Greddy side skirts and an Aeroware front lip.

The Shoot Itself

My friend and I packed up and drove to Gatlinburg for Slammedenuff 2024. I drive a 1993 Toyota MR2 myself yet unfortunately it couldn’t come so when I found Drippys MR2 at Slammed I knew I had to get photos outside of the convention center. I found his Instagram and sent him a dm and my friends and I started looking for cool places nearby we could get some photos and not to far away was an abandoned old ford dealership without any of the signs so we agreed to meet there and I got to get this set. Drippy was a super cool guy and answered all my questions I had for him about his time with his MR2, I got to get some of my personal favorite photos and met a nice fellow MR2 driver.
