What’s the story of how this JDM Legend made its way into your life?
”We were actually in Japan for the Tokyo auto salon and had the intention on looking for an S 15 in Japan. We talked to our friend, Shubash Singh, and told him what we were doing, and he offered to sell his S15 to us once we got back. About a week after we got home, we went to look at the car at his house. We knew as soon as we put eyes on it, we had to have it. The paint was in mint condition, and it had about 80,000 kilometers on the dash.”

Get to Know the Owners…
Owned by a father & son duo, Jeremy and Zach Meals made it their goal to achieve a dream of theirs; to own, drive, and enjoy the legendary Nissan Silvia S15.
“My name is Jeremy Meals and I’m from Goodlettsville, Tennessee. I get more happiness from watching others achieve their goals, and the car community is a unique space I feel I can motivate others as well as a place for others to motivate me. That’s kind of what the F Spec Garage brand is about.”
”My name is Zach Meals, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and having people I love around me. I want to see them do better than myself and try my best to guide others where I can. Outside of the automotive world, I enjoy traveling a lot and meeting new people. I want to motivate as many young people or others around my age as much as I can to help them get ahead as much as possible.”
Describe your automotive journey up to this point with the S15?
(Zach): “My first car is one that I will never get rid of. The Nissan 350z has always been a car I had admired on the road while I was just a kid in the backseat. Once I saved up enough money my sophomore year of high school, I immediately got it. I have always been into JDM cars, but Nissan has never let me down when it comes to reliability, looks, and handling. Since I had gotten my dream car, it was time to look for a new one. Wanting a car right hand drive, I figured the s15 Spec R was the best option with its rarity and sleek design.”
(Jeremy): “My journey started when I went to my first drag race with my dad. I was probably six years old. When I got old enough to drive, that is about when the fast and the furious movie came out and I knew that was the scene I wanted to be in. So my first car was a 92 Honda Civic CX. Barely had enough torque to open a pickle jar, but it was mine and I loved that car. When I got my first 240SX hatch that’s when I knew I was going to be an S chassis guy. that was over 20 years ago. The first time I saw an S15 it immediately became my favorite looking car of all time.”

Has the car surprised you? Either in its personality, its quirks, or the way people react to it?
”The thing that has surprised us the most with the car is how nice it is and how many looks/conversations we get from it. We have always been the guys drooling and complimenting others over their builds, but now, we don’t always know how to respond with the roles being reversed. As far as the car goes, there has not been too much surprise due to the s chassis being known for its well balance… Only having it for about 7 months, our favorite memory so far would have to be the day we picked it up, realizing our dream had come true. Past that, we believe the day we took it to import alliance in Lebanon, Tennessee, where Slammedenuff approached us and asked us to be their featured car would be a close second. Even though it is not slammed, it was enough to get into the booth section.”
Are there any unique challenges faced with ownership?
”There have not been too many challenges besides how many times we have kicked on the windshield wipers trying to use the turn signals. The car is very simple to drive and work on.”

What advice do you have for someone who may think owning something like this is unobtainable?
(Jeremy): “Simply put if you want something bad enough you will have it sooner or later. for me personally, it took 20 years. it really just comes down to hard work, dedication, focus, and motivation. Our family definitely believes in manifesting things that you want in life. It really comes down to figuring out what exactly you want.”
