Who are you?
Daniel Scott is a professional photographer and influencer (@goshdanm on Instagram), with a large following based on his film photography.
What car do you have and for what reason did you purchase it?
“The car is a 1990 Nissan 300zx (also known as the Z32) – I’ve always loved the 300zx & have always wanted the opportunity to buy a nice example of one. In 2019 I bought my first one. It was a red convertible that was riddled with mechanical problems. I wasn’t a fan of the soft top convertible & ended up selling it. I found the gold Z a few years ago & finally made a deal with the original owner to buy it. She bought it brand new in 1990.”
Does the car invoke certain emotions for you?
“I definitely get happy every time I see & take pictures of the car. However, owning a 30 year old car isn’t always fun – luckily I find joy in maintaining the vehicle as well!”
What is your favorite aspect of the car?
“I love how versatile these cars are. There are plenty of aftermarket mods & body kits. You can build the car anyway you like or leave it stock – either way you go it’s a great looking car.”
What/Who got you into cars?
“I’ve had about 23 cars before this (lol, I have a car addiction) – I go through phases of buying cool cars & selling them. As of now, I have no plans on selling the gold car, but I’ll most likely continue to buy other cars that I enjoy. Additionally, I think I got into cars from watching the Fast & Furious movies as a kid. I also watch a ton of YouTubers who share the same passion with me.”
What are your future plans with the car?
“I plan on manual swapping the car at some point – & possibly engine swapping it. As of now, I’ll probably keep it relatively stock (mechanically speaking), though I do have stolen side skirts that will be going on within the next couple weeks & I’ll most likely add a spoiler as soon as I find one I like.”
